Inn at Carnall Hall

You are here Home  > Hotels and Inns >  Inn at Carnall Hall

Originially built in 1905 as a women’s dorm, the building now houses a 50-room hotel and Ella’s French restaurant. Witnesses here have seen the floating apparition of a woman in a gown, without a head or feet, and indentations on the bed as if someone were sitting on it. Other phenomena noted here include photos that show reflections of ghosts in furniture and lights that turn on by themselves.

  1. ?Before it was an Inn, classes were held there (before that I think it was a women’s dorm)
In 87 I had classes there and our study sessions were held in the attic rooms. Never saw or felt ANYTHING,

    • If you go there now, there are several pictures of what it use to look like. You can also read a little bit about the history of the building. I don’t remember seeing anything about it being haunted, but that don’t mean that it isn’t. It is a nice place and I hear that the restaurant is really good as well.

  2. Worked at Ella’s (the restaurant). Recently left. The fire alarm would constantly go off for no reason whatsoever. We learned to “deal with it”, ignoring our own safety while making sure guests left the building. Never a fire. You would think the owner would fix the problem as that must cost thousands of dollars per month for false alarm visits. Most times it happened when the hotel was booked for weddings or anniversaries. Kids were always creeped out by her portrait over the fireplace. Guests would also complain about feeling “drained, tired” when we served them early mornings (on normal days). Though ive never heard about ghost sightings as you’ve mentioned. BTW Ella never married.
