Hotel Iowa

You are here Home  > Historical Buildings >  Hotel Iowa

This historic hotel was built in the early twentieth century for workers constructing a nearby lock for the town dam. And according to some reports by guests, they may have never left. Ghostly music, disembodied footsteps, screams and a male apparition in workman clothes have all been reported by staff. The hotel is believed to have closed, and the building now serves commercial purposes.

  1. I’ve been in this building plenty of times for a cleaning job and visiting people. It is not at all haunted, nor shut down.

  2. I am the manager of the hotel and its 53 apartments. I have had several experiences, as well as many tenants and other staff. The hotel is full of spirits, most of which are just passing through. There is nothing malevolent there however.

  3. THIS WAS NEVER BUILT FOR THE WORKERS. THEY HAD HOUSING AT THE DAM SITE. IT WAS BUILT FOR VISITORS WHO CAME TO SEE THE DAM BEING BUILT.
