Friley Hall - Iowa State University

You are here Home  > Colleges and Universities >  Friley Hall - Iowa State University

One dormitory room is nicknamed Satan’s Legion. Rumor has it that a student killed himself there, and everyone who is assigned to that room either dies or disappears. Reports say many students are afraid to go into the room, and some maintain that because of this, the university stopped assigning it. Others say the room is not used for safety reasons: It has no access to a fire escape.

Hello i was wondering how can we explore this and investigate, my fiancee and I are paranormal investigators and we go to different haunted places to investigate if someone would message me on my email provided i would appreciate that a lot. Mhadzio90@gmail.com

    2. My daughter lived in the Pennell House in Friley Hall at ISU. The lower level is where the haunted room is located. It has actually been sealed with sheet rock and is no longer accessible. It is however conspicuous as it is clearly a sealed room. It’s directly across from the laundry facility. My daughter used to do her laundry at night since it was usually possible to do so without waiting. She loved being down there alone. Not.

    3. This information is all BOGUS. Mike, that “sealed room” is an old stairwell from when Friley Hall and Hughes Hall were two separate buildings. Look on the other side of that “sealed room” and you will find an open hallway. It is not directly across from a laundry facility- the “sealed room” is in the laundry room.

As for the student who killed themselves- again, BOGUS. There is a room at the end of the hallway where students are no longer assigned because it does not have an egress window, plain and simple. Look at fire code people, it tells you all you need to know.

There is history of one student who killed themselves, but they jumped from a stairwell because they were severely depressed, and this is all documented.

Anyone who tries to gain access to the building that does not rightfully belong there will be arrested for trespassing.

Its actually the RA storage room, they get pissed if people try to get into their stuff so they created the story to keep people away from it.

    5. Rooms with letters in front of them in Friley generally aren’t residential rooms. So neither A82 or A180 would be the room. Doors are rarely re-numbered either.
