The haunting at this cemetery is sort of a love story. In 1987, the caretaker began to frequently see an apparition of an elderly man in a white cowboy hat. The ghost followed the caretaker around, even helping out around the cemetery grounds. The caretaker eventually recognized the apparition, who had lived in the same town and was survived by his widow, who still lived there. The ghost disappeared in May 1988, when the widow passed away. It is believed the lonely ghost was restless and until his wife’s spirit joined him.
