  1. I used to hang out in this cemetary as a teenager in the mid-90’s, writing poetry and producing gravestone rubbings. At sundown, I’d hide from the security personnel and hang out among the graves for hours in the dark. Although I never experienced anything supernatural, the lights bouncing from the cars on 87th and Kedzie, reflecting from gravestone to gravestone, was eerie. Also, there used to be a group of 6-10 very odd birds that would drink from a large puddle that would last weeks after a rain. They were HUGE – larger than canadian geese, and had sort of drooped necks like vultures. I’ve never seen birds like that again in the area – but then again, this was at night and best I could see were shadows.
