Former owner Waldo Sexton is the haunt who resides here, a man who was known to be a bit eccentric. Guests who stay in the suites once occupied by the Sextons have reported hearing noises coming from adjacent empty rooms, and security guard once felt a tap on his shoulder by an unseen hand.

  1. I was there over 15 years ago in the front area by the bar. I standing by the pole in the middle and I got a strong touch on my shoulder. Like someone pinching their hand on top of my right shoulder. I turned around and there was no one there. Nobody was even close. This was before I heard rumors of the hauntings. I have been going there for years and have not experienced it since but, I will never forget it.

I’ve been coming to the driftwood for 20 years and never thought it was haunted. I have always felt a bit scared when looking at the rooms on top of Waldo’s and throughout the breezeway. I’ve stayed in one of the additions to the breezeway several times and nothing happened. I found out the driftwood was possibly haunted so I took many photos and videos at night. This is what I’ve found.

I’ve stayed at the driftwood for 20 years. I knew something or someone was in the breezeway the whole time but didn’t say anything. I recently stayed again, at the driftwood and I took a lot of footage. That place is loaded with orbs and spirits, and ghosts. I captured several on video. Take a look……

  4. Many things have occurred over my couple of stays at Vero beach with my family. We lost four hours of time after what felt like a few minutes, and we had just looked at the clock. A light zig-zagged in the sky, and when it was mentioned, came closer and turned into a plane that was landing, even though it was headed away from any possible airports, and no plane can zig-zag at the snap of a finger. I have been poked a few times, even slapped in the back of the head lightly, and have heard voices when there was no one. The bathroom shower water would change temperature in a blink, burning hot and then freezing cold, without even touching the handle. Every time I went in there, I would start sneezing and getting a runny nose, which would quickly end after I got out. In recent years, the room has started getting infected with no-see-ems, sugar ants, ghost ants, and sand fleas, all of which bite residents. Now, the bugs might just be due to being at a beach with little clean water, but it can be a sign of the paranormal. The other things aren’t really explainable, in my mind.
