Cuban Club - Circulo Cubano de Tampa

The Cuban Club, now a site rented out for events, was built in 1917 to serve the Cuban community. It has been the site of two deaths: One was an actor who committed suicide on the stage, the other was a murder in which one board member shot another in the face. Both are said to haunt the building, and folks have also seen apparitions of a woman in a white dress and red heels and another of a young boy playing ball. The Travel Channel has named the Cuban Club one of the Top 10 Most Haunted Places.

    1. Absolutely had a paranormal experience here at the Cuban Club….. my friend Deanna and I whom are both believers in the paranormal decided to visit one day….. we stayed for an hour….. exploring the building. gong into every room, going from floor to floor…………. but the ghosts we heard were down in the basement…………. we heard people voices…….. more than one…….. like people at a party… speaking. like a lot of people…………. mainly in Spanish………….. then….. I know a little boy drowned in the pool…… what was the pool……. I called out his name……… just to see what would happen……….. all of a sudden……….. someone taps my shoulder I froze…….. couldn’t move for a minute……………….. after that we got out of there………. will I go back……… probably as ghosts are around us………. some are evil………..some are not………… I study at HCC Ybor……. right across from the Cuban Club………….

    2. About 7 or 8 years ago we went to a baby shower on the first floor, I believe it was the original indoor pool area. My daughter was around 6 years old at the time, she needed to use the restroom and my husband walked her over and waited outside while she used the restroom. I walked over to my husband a few minutes later with our other daughter and told him I’m going to check on her. Before I made it to the ladies room, we hear a loud bang and before I make it into the ladies room. My daughter walks out with this startled look on her face and says “Did you hear that”. We responded “yes” what happen. She tells us that she is washing her hands and the metal trash can on the other end just falls over. I asked if anyone else was in there with her and she says no. I went in and the restroom was empty and I stood the receptacle back up. We didn’t think anything of it, until a few weeks later we are watching ghost hunters and they are investigating the Cuban Club and the same restroom is mentioned because of things happening in there connected to a little boy. I asked the couple who had the baby shower and they said yes, she grew up going to that club and it is definitely haunted. If I knew all this, I would have never let me daughter go into that restroom alone. Maybe the little boy just wanted to get her attention.
