Commander's Palace

You are here Home  > Restaurants and Bars >  Commander's Palace

It is said that Emile Commander himself lingers to maintain his famed 1880s Creole restaurant. He has been known to sip guests’ drinks (or even drink them entirely) and turn lights on and off, and his footsteps have been heard as well. Executive chefs at this famous upscale eatery include Paul Prudhomme and Emeril Lagasse.

The restaurant lies across the street from the well-known haunted Lafayette Cemetery No. 1.

  1. I have always had an ominous feeling in the woman’s restroom upstairs. I’m somewhat clairvoyant. You will get the feeling of being watched while standing in front of the sinks mirror. I kept turning thinking the ghost will appear while I was washing my hands. That’s how thick the feeling was in the bathroom
