Clayton Club Saloon

You are here Home  > Historical Buildings >  Clayton Club Saloon

Once the Eagle Saloon (now the Clayton Club), this building was brought upriver from San Francisco in the 1860s. Thought to be haunted by ghosts from its old saloon days, the club has been the site of mysteriously moving objects, lights that turn on or off by themselves, and cold spots.

  1. I have a friend who used to work here. Rumor is that there was a shoot out back in the 1800’s and a little girl got shot. They brought her into the saloon and she died there on the floor. She is the ghost that haunts the place and there are many sightings of her as well.

  2. Downtown Clayton is definitely haunted. The corner across from the Clayton club i experienced very dense atmospheric pressure and hair standing on my arms and legs. The very same heavy electric feeling before it snows. I took some photos outside the Clayton club as well and noticed that when the flash on my camera engaged I could see what looked like spirit orbs on the screen of my phone flying by but they were gone the instant before the shutter captures the photo
