Burgundy Drive

The community of Indian Meadows and the adjacent community of Shady Grove are both built over the top of an American Indian Cherokee burial ground. Haunting have been reported in both houses, Burgundy Drive (the street that runs through the communities) and in the adjacent woods. Dark figures and shadows can be seen moving about in the forests near people’s homes, and people who venture outside at night often hear people following them. However, when they go to investigate, they find no one. However, people sometimes find claw marks outside their homes. They also see ghostly figures rush past their houses at night. Inside their homes, people hear voices calling their names, have electrical appliances go on and off by themselves, have doors slam of their own accord, and sometimes see or hear people in their house.

  1. I have lived in the Shady Grove Community. I experienced seeing an old Indian woman in the kitchen looking as though she were cooking (stirring something in a pot in mid air lean down like a pot on a fire. I also woke up one night pinned to my bed and not able to move or talk. My bedroom light had been turned on as well. I couldn’t even open my eyes. I tried to scream out for my Dad and then my brother in the next rooms but not a sound came out of my mouth. In my mind my mind I screamed Jesus please help me and whatever had me pinned suddenly just let go of me. Scariest thing I have ever encountered.

    • I am not the same person that shared the previous story but I lived in shady grove in the 80s and early 90s. I also experienced multiple times where something was holding me down while I was sleeping. A quiet noise would feel the air right before this would happen. This thing felt very evil! I would think that I was screaming for help but nothing was actually coming out of my mouth. Sometimes my screams would sound like a demon voice. I was not the only person in my house to experience this demonic encounter. This was on dogwood road in shady grove
