American Legion Post 308

You are here Home  > Miscellaneous >  American Legion Post 308

It was once a 1700s farmhouse before it was turned into apartment buildings. Now, this American Legion post seems to be haunted by a spirit from its past. An apparition of a lady in black near the fireplace and another of a man standing behind the bar have been known to appear, as well as a tall shadowy man on the third floor.

I HAVE QUESTION. MY MOTHER F. VIRGINIA WISMER RECIEVED A SCHOOL AWARD FROM YOUR POST ON 06 23 1924, I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT SPECIFICALLY BESIDES THE AWARD SHE MAY HAVE RECEIVED IF ANYTHING ELSE WITH THAT AWARD. THANKS FOR WHAT EVER INFORMATION YOU MAY HAVE.

Was my family’s house. Was built in 1740. My grandfather built the first Apartments upstairs for my parents. Guy upstairs I believe is my Grandfathers brother Irv. The one behind the bar with the Irish cap on is my Grandfather. He bought the property when it was a bankrupt gof course.

  3. The ghosts are said to be linked to some colonial era soldiers who’s unmarked graves were disturbed by encroaching suburbia 4 were reburied on the site as they were American veterans. Since then they seem to enjoy the place rather more than anything else.

    • Ed, the stories
are especially about times when there were parties and after locking up hearing noises inside or seeing lights on , anything like that seen or reported to you
      ?
