Amboy Pharmacy

You are here Home  > Historical Buildings >  Amboy Pharmacy

This old-fashioned pharmacy is haunted by at least seven spirits, according to a visiting psychic. Dating back to the early 1860’s, the main haunting here is by a former pharmacy owner who was displeased by recent renovations. Known as ‘Steve’, he has been known to knock objects off shelves, and push employees around. Cold spots, ghostly voices and unexplained whistling have also been reported in the old basement.

  1. Today my family went on a nighttime walk and we stopped in front of the pharmacy to talk to our friend, who lives in the apartment above the currently empty pharmacy. She told us about how there is a woman ghost who sits at the window of the apartment building and looks out the window all the time and was saying how the ghosts there aren’t friendly. She was also telling us about how she hears banging quite often, which goes on all night without stopping. She said when you go down to the basement of the pharmacy all you hear is a man saying loudly “GET OUT OF HERE! I SEE YOU!” Also, I don’t know when, I know that there was a group of 3 teenage guys once who thought they could stay the night in the basement, but it is so bad down there that they couldn’t last 3 hours, let alone 10. I’ve gone down there once, but they only let me down there for such a short amount of time that nothing happened. I did see a broken down and destroyed tunnel that ran under the road a long time ago.
