This historic hotel was built in 1866, and has maintained its popularity ever since its founding during the gold-rush era. Despite being recently gutted by fire, guests and staff have reported seeing the apparition of a young girl with dark hair for over a century.

My experience wasn’t actually at the cosmopolitan hotel however only 2mins up the road at what used to be the first ever hotel built in trentham, it has since been turned into different establishments and when I had my experiences it was a bed and breakfast owned and run by my uncle. Whilst I experienced multiple unexplained happingings for eg one morning I was down in the yard when I looked up to the second story i noticed what I thought was 2 people watching me through the window and wasn’t until someone had let the curtain go that I realised that in fact was my room, not long after first opening my uncle invited a clairvoyant over who confirmed there were 2 young spirits both girls there and they were only ever going to play tricks and have fun with people, I can’t tell you how many times the front door bell is pressed of a night.
Now to my experience that I know without a shadow of doubt there is gohsts there it was Christmas night I was 19yo and my entire family had Christmas lunch at the bed and breakfast the only guests to stay that night was myself 2 brothers my partner at the time and my mum we were all upstairs and downstairs was my uncle that’s it, we had all gone to bed for the night our entire room was dark I rolled over but it almost felt like someone was sitting at the end of the bed I didn’t think anything of it a couple of minutes later out of absolute nowhere and what was clear as day and loud enough that it was definitely from no further than the room next to us is best described as a baby or small child crying for about 5 to 10 seconds. That was literally my last stay there and as soon as it stopped both my twin brother and younger brother came straight into our room asking what the hell that was and both ended up sleeping on the floor of our room
