Red Dog Road

You are here Home  > Miscellaneous >  Red Dog Road

This road has been haunted by mysterious lights which flicker from tree to tree. If one is quiet at a certain fork in the road you can hear someone or something walking in the woods above the road. A huge shadowed specter has been seen several times standing in the middle of the road. The legend tells of a jealous coal miner who, in the 1930’s shot and killed another miner as he exited the mine one evening. The story is that he killed the wrong man and his spirit still roams Red Dog Road looking for his killer.

  1. Red Dog Road is the site of two unmarked graves and I believe the burial area of Mountain Jane Doe.An exhumation was done here and an unknown male was removed. This site is supposedly haunted by Jane Doe’s spirit – a young girl who was found murdered on Little Shephards Trail.I’m not entirely sure this is the same area but I believe it is.

    • there was only one unmarked grave and that was the unidentified woman that was stabbed to death on little shepherd trail, at a certain fork in the road you see a shadow figure and here footsteps around you, the storie tells it is a coal miner that was nurseries by his wife’s lover roaming the hills looking for his killer
