Windsor hotel was once a lively place, established in 1874. Cowboys, settlers, and European settlers passed through the Windsor hotel. A lady named Maude came through the San Luis Valley and arrived in Del Norte Colorado.her means of the stay where rather joyful........ Well at the beginning. Her and the love of her life decided to stay at the hotel for 6 days. Her love said he would be right back upon leaving the hotel she looked out the window to see her love get in a wagon with another women and he never returned, 4 days later Maude went across the street and bought a first model of the 357. Magnum the biggest revolver of the time she went back to her room where she shot herself in the chest and fell to the ground screaming, she loaded another round and aimed it at her head, she died. Now if you stay in the room where she killed herself you may be a lucky one to hear her moan in the room and peer over your bed at night moaning in pain from the loss of her husband and the pain of the wound. Be careful as i have heard Maude scream above me as i will never forget, she is most definitely real. (Submitted by Michael G.)

    This place gave me the creeps. Although I did not see a ghost, there was definitely a palpable sense that the paranormal was crawling all over the place. When I stayed there, I didn't know it was haunted, but it didn't take long to realize it.

    We just stayed here and the alarm clock turned on by itself at midnight. Otherwise a very nice place with a unique atmosphere. Some could certainly find it spooky.

    My husband and I stayed here last night and we didn't know in advance that it was haunted, my husband, who is psychic, had a terrible night (as he often does in haunted places.) In the morning he told me that the problems were coming from room 209 and that he had had a vision of a naked women lying in between us with a hole in her chest and head. It was only after this that I looked on the internet and found out about Maud. If I had any doubts at all about his abilities, they disappeared this morning!
    He also had terrible nightmares about disputes here but we can't find much information about that.
