I lived at Wellscroft Lodge in 1963 to January 6, 1965. My father James L. Lavene was the manager of the lodge. Myself, 1 younger sister, 2 younger brothers, my mother, and father all slept in the 2nd floor master suite. My father died on Jan. 6th, 1965 in this suite at 2:15 am, and his last words to me were “take care of your mother, sister, and brothers”, then he fell off the edge thier bed. I was 14 at the time. Three gentlemen from the Pocono area of Pennsylvania were the owners of the lodge at this time. Thier last names were Franco, Fletcher, and Fisher.
I have had occurances happen to me while living at the lodge that I can not explain. If you would like further information, please contact me at my e-mail addres, and if you give me a phone number I will glad to call. Hope what I have given so far will be of some help.

    Sincerely,
    Gregory J Lavene, USMC/USCG Retired

One additional comment to my previous post is that my father was an accomplished muscian. He played piano, and also saxes.

  3. I lived there in 1985 – 1989 with my mom.and step dad we lived in the caretaker house and had full access to the lodge on several occasions I would see the lights on the second floor and the power was off I also witnessed the lady in the red dress approximately 10 times in the four years we also had a dog well well two both beagles that would not go in one particular room off the main lobby their hair would stand up straight and they would growl. I also have seen the lady in the red dress on the staircase I must say I have never been so scared in my life the room that the dogs would not go in one night me my brother and my two step brothers and two cousins we’re playing with a Ouija board granite I don’t believe in that stuff and sometimes they would ask questions and I felt that they were moving the piece two words to spell stuff until with my own eyes with nobody touching the board the board went flying off the table needless to say you had a bunch of kids that could not get out of there fast enough I have never heard music there but I have heard several voices as for images of those voices that I have never witnessed only the lady in the red dress there are 5 secret passageways throughout the home we have only found for out of the 5 if you would like to contact me I would be happy to answer any other questions that you may have there are other things that I have witnessed and I must say to be honest I don’t really believe in ghosts but from my experience is living there I do now

  4. When this property was in foreclosure my boyfriends company was hired to clean the mansion out. We were there for 4 days and all of us had several “weird” experiences there. My experience was this: I had to make sure all the outlets had covers. So I was in a bedroom changing a cover and the door slammed shut when I left the room and was walking down the hall way. Here is a photo that we took of the front when we were done working there.

  5. A childhood friend of mine had distance relatives that had been living in the house and had young woman commit suicide by hanging herself in her bedroom,it’s the one on the right from the back stairs from the kitchen. I lived in the original caretaker home for a while myself.
