Variety Theater

You are here Home  > Theaters >  Variety Theater

1927 building The Variety Theater was a vaudeville house, then a movie theater until the early 1980s. After that, it was a rock concert venue until it closed in 1986. Now, locals say, it’s haunted by a white figure who hangs out on first floor by the water fountain. A man’s spirit also lingers here, peering from the upper balcony with red eyes. Noises of phantom workers can be heard on the stage as well. One of the ghosts is believed to be a man who fell to his death from the lighting scaffold.

    • I feel like this places had some spirits in it. You could sense something upstairs in the balcony rooms and something down in the basement area, below the stage. Did anyone else feel this or see anything?

I worked there during the haunted house years (1986- 1989) and feel like there is definitely a spirit or 2 in there. Got the feeling really strong when working in the room on the balcony, and any other time we would go into the basement.

  3. I worked there during the Haunted House years (86-89) and feel like there are a few spirits inside there. It felt like something was upstairs with you when working in the Balcony rooms and something in the basement. Anyone else remember this?
