Thornbury Farm

You are here Home  > Miscellaneous >  Thornbury Farm

The site where the final engagement of the Battle of Brandywine took place during the Revolution, Thornbury Farm is reportedly haunted by several ghosts. Although you would think the majority of the sightings would surround the tales of battle, the most famous ghost of Thornbury Farm is actually the ghost of a little girl who can be heard crying in one of the rooms.

    1. I have a pic of the girl in a window, clearly, as I was leaving I snapped a few random pictures of front of house, the picture shows the little girl clear as day!

Thornbury Farm is closer to the opening engagement of the Battle of the Brandywine (the wall at the Birmingham Friends Meeting House) than the final one, which took place on the high ground south of Dilworthtown.

    3. I used to ride there when I was a lirtle girl. I witness a few odd things. The horses would plant their feet and snort at the farm house. Also, I saw about 10 horses running in a small circle in and open field as though there was something surrounding them. The field is where the battle took place. Lastly, the radio would often change by itself to classic music. I have more stories as well.
