I used to volunteer here and all of the experience I had involved theater 2, on the right. Even when the lights are on, the room feels unpleasant and you get the sensation that you’re being watched or followed. Occasionally, I’d peripherally see a shadow walk into the theater, or see movement inside even if the room was empty. Other volunteers and employees have reported a similar feeling of not being alone in there. Before it was an art theater, it was a Spanish-language theater for major movies, but one guest died of a stroke during a showing. The general thought is that he’s the one still there.

I was suprised to see this post. I LOVE the Frida Cinema… It is THE place to see a movie in SOCAL. That being said, I will keep this short. My 15yo daughter and I were viewing the AMAZING 2018 version of Suspiria (in the right theater like the above post). I noticed during the film she kept looking over her left shoulder. On the way home I asked her if she enjoyed the film. Her reply was “best horror movie since the Shining”, but was hard to watch. So I podded her a bit. She explained to me that the film would have been more enjoyable if she would not have witnessed a live hanging inside the theater between the Frida art on the left wall and the screen curtain. I did not go much further with her than that. I can assure anyone that my daughter is a straight shooter and this was out of left field. I have been 4 times since then and have not experienced anything but warm customer service, inexpensive fun and just an overall feeling of joy every time I leave that place. Anyone know anything about a hanging in that area?
Outside on the street off a light post a man was hanged in the old times
