The Bullock Hotel

You are here Home  > Hotels and Inns >  The Bullock Hotel

Folks say original owner Seth Bullock, who passed away in 1919, still remains in his hotel. Apparitions and orbs have been seen and an eerie presence has been felt, although witnesses say the ghost is not harmful. Ghost tours are held here regularly.

  1. I have had several experiences here. The first happened when a friend and I saw an Unsolved crime show that featured this hotel and casino. We drove up from Rapid to bungle out version of a ghost hunt. At his grave at Mount Moriah, we felt at peace. Later, we got more cocky about how we were going to find Seth…the wrong attitude when searching for an 1870s law man. I felt like I hit a wall a few paces in the door, and we both turned around and were escorted out, feeling a firm hand on our backs until we were on the city side walk.

Many more experiences occurred during a weekend stay there. We stayed in one of the most haunted rooms of the hotel, and doors opened by themselves, we heard some mumbling voices that were not easily understood. We helt it was spirit children, as the pressure of their hand on us was so small. Later, we saw the ‘holy grail’ of ghost hunting–a full body apparition of a girl about 10 years old. She was wearing clothing from the late 1800s, and she was a victim of the small pox epidemic (the basement of the hotel became the hospital). The Bullock has never disappointed me, but I advise others to be respectful; Seth Bullock will accept nothing else
