  1. Arranged to stay in this hotel for 2 months whilst working on a long government project, checking in each Monday and checking out Fridays (2015). I was in a big room with a small kitchen, it was great as parliament were not in seat so it was quiet enough for me to leave some belongings in the room while returning home for weekends.

Not too long into my stay I had an eerie feeling about the room as the TV had turned on several times during several nights, I heard talking at 2am from nearby rooms and noises from the old wooden wardrobe sounding like the ironing board was moving. As the hotel was nearly empty, I assumed it was the fridge or aircon, so I reported it to reception. They looked at me like an idiot whilst they clicked into the system, eventually with a confused looked they offered for someone to check the aircon/fridge (probably because no guests were nearby!).

On the last night I was willing to stay, I told myself there was nothing wrong but still decided to leave the bathroom door open with the light on whilst i slept. That night I woke suddenly after feeling a draft almost like something breathed on my neck, also to my horror I awoke into a pitch black room. I flashed my phone to find the lamp switch, feeling like there was someone right there and once I got the lamp on I found the door to the bathroom had closed with the light still on.

Whist it was probably all in my imagination, I still wonder to this day could I somehow have turned off the light whilst sleep walking or could there be a maintenance fault. I really don’t want to think I shared a hotel room with a ghost !!

  2. My wife and I stayed at the Brassey Hotel on the 19th of November 2022.

At around 1.30am on the morning of the 20th November I have woken up to have a drink when I have observed a face staring at me, it was looking right at me, I have had such a fright that I have actually shouted out loud, “what the fuck is that”, which has woken my wife. I have pointed to the face which my wife has also seen before picking up my phone to shine a light in the direction of the face which has at that point disappeared. Needless to say it has taken a bit of time for both of us to relax.

Later in the morning my wife has woke me up saying that she thought something had jumped on the bed.
