Sherwood Inn

You are here Home  > Hotels and Inns >  Sherwood Inn

So when you go on the “internets” to look up the Sherwood Inn the ubiquitous description states that “A female committed suicide here”. A female what? Howler monkey? Pony? In any case a female of some sort is alleged to have died and now roams the place.

  1. A young girl by the name of Rebecca allegedly jumped off the balcony after breaking up
with her boyfriend. She is said to haunt Rooms 207 and 209.

  2. Katelyn Feathers  |

Stayed here back in 2015. In the middle of the night for 4 hours straight I heard a woman screaming bloody murder and doors slamming repeatedly. No one heard it or reported it beside my mom, a lady in the room next to us and I. I still think about it often. So bizarre

  3. I was married here in January when the hotel is basically shut down. Went back for my 1 year anniversary. Sitting on the bed, a knob from the bedpost went flying across the room toward my husband. Later that night, it sounded like a huge party was going on. Lots of laughter and doors opening and closing. I looked into the hall several times but no one was there. Asked the desk clerk about a party and he said we were the only people there.

  4. My wife and I stayed there one rainy night and we do recordings…we were the only guests in the Hotel that night. We went out to dinner and when we came back to the room I had the recorder going and asked “would you like some wine?” as we had brought a bottle with us…playing the recording back was an excited female voice (not my wife) saying “Wine….YES PLEASE” loud and clear!

  5. I stayed here back in on 2-14-2021 for my birthday. Now maybe because I sleep like a dead rock-yes dead rock seems more appropriate when speaking on how heavy a sleeper I am, I felt l, heard and experienced nothing except great dinner with my fiancé. I even brought an EMF and ghost box and caught nothing. I was exceptionally disappointed. But perhaps they’ll reveal themselves to me when the time is right!

  6. I have stayed here multiple times. A friend who lives in NC now, but grew up in the area meets me there for a weekend occasionally. We stayed there this past weekend January 13th, 2023 – January 16th 2023. The Hotel is not open, but since she is from the area, she was able to snag a room. We were the only people in “residence” the whole weekend. We always stay in room 204. The multiple times we have stayed there, we have never had any otherworldly experiences. It is a very interesting place. Of all the times we have stayed there, we never knew that there is a whole other section of the hotel, that has separate staircases to it and not accessible from the elevator or front staircase.

The Sherwood is available as a wedding venue, or large parties. It is Beautiful and I highly recommend it.⁸
