You are here Home  > Historical Buildings >  Shalimar - 535 Wilkinson St.

Originally a 1895 brewery, this building is reported to be empty at this time. In the 1990s it was an Indian restaurant, Shalimar Indian Cuisine. Witnesses claimed to have seen an apparition of a man in a turban with a sword, and objects like furniture and silverware were said to move about on their own.

  1. I worked at Shalimar in the late 90’s. Some of the very best people I’ve ever met let alone worked for. One night around close I went upstairs to where we serve our lunch buffet, it was very dark. While rinsing a coffee pot with lemon, ice water and vinegar, I heard a low moaning sound that scared the shit out of me. I looked into the room where it came from and saw a man in a blue turban who looked like he was levitating! I ran downstairs so scared and told the kitchen what I saw only to be laughed at..it as Har Dave, the new dishwasher they flew in from Texas.
