I grew up in San Manuel. My dad Clifford Hamilton was one of the main engineers at this mine. He worked for Magma Copper, one of my aunts was one of the first female boulder breakers underground. I’ll always remember the long hours and worries my dad had working there. After they shut down we moved to Queensland Australia. Where my dad worked for Bechtel. He has recently retired from his own company Performance Associates.Mining paved his way to success.

    2. I’ve not expirenced this myself, but my sister did. She was cleaning one of the men’s restrooms at the mine, when she looked into a mirror and saw a miner. She turned around to tell him she would be done in a minute and he was gone. She ran to the door to see where he had gone and there was no evidence that anyone had been there. She said he couldn’t have disappeared that quickly unless he was a ghost.

    3. I was in the San Manuel hospital (sunlife) waiting to have bloodwork done when I saw a miner complete with hard hat and the silver dust they used to have all over them come down the hall and go into the room across from where I was sitting. (That room ised to be for surgery) I knew there was a restroom in there so when the cleaning lady went to go into that room I told her that I thought there was a man in the bathroom cuz he hadn’t come out. She cautiously went in and came back out saying no one was in there. I asked her if there was another exit and she said no. She asked me to describe him and I told her. She got real white and said it was a ghost.
