  1. My wife and I spent Valentines Night a few years ago in Suzanne’s Room. I felt unwelcome in her room literally as soon as I set my bag on the bed. I set foot in the bathroom only to put my toothbrush and toothpaste on the sink, turning around to find my bag thrown on the floor with clothes scattered all over the place. My wife said she felt comfortable and had a great night sleep. However, I could not sleep and ended up sleeping in the car, even though it was a freezing February night.

  2. My dad used to work there and had to sleep there a few nights in the winter during bad storms. He said one night the lights and water kept turning off and on in the bathroom. I was there once as a teenager and there were these two woman in the laundry area cleaning sheets and blankets. I went down to say hello and as soon as I did the power went off in the building. I went back up the stairs and it went back on. I was told well suzanne probably doesn’t like you. We all laughed. Also, I believe there are tunnels in the basement that used to be part of the underground railroad.

    • Robert,
The Tunnels were used, Rider’s Inn was actually apart of the underground railroad! It was also a stop along the Oregon Trail for settlers heading west.

  3. I stayed there before and I woke up in the middle of the night from a knock on the door and I opened it and saw a Civil War ghost and he waved at me and I waved back and we talked about him and the war. He was very nice and we talked for an hour the next day I told my parents in the room next to me and they made me leave. I didn’t want to leave. But we did.
