Raritan Public Library

You are here Home  > Miscellaneous >  Raritan Public Library

The historic Raritan Public Library is said to be haunted by a former librarian. Lights have been known to turn on and off by themselves, and books move on their own. Even more spooky, locals have seen the apparition of an elderly woman in the window and also in the adjacent garden.

  2. I was there as a kid checking out books when there was banging upstairs. The librarian said to someone in passing, while not trying to freak us out, that there was a ghost of a slave upstairs and he was seen at the top of the stairs (he wouldn’t come down farther) and that books usually get thrown on to the floor. It was a bunch of loud thuds.

  3. Does anyone know about the bradley witch? Have have heard stories about people seeing her while walking the tote path. It’s been said she lived in the woods back there back in the 1800s. My daughter and I have hiked in that area a few times and one time we were out there after dusk and we thought we saw a figure cross the path infront of us. When we reached the spot a few seconds later we could not see anyone..we called out but no one answered. Creeped us out.
