  1. This is one of my favorite haunted spots in Miami. Quite a romantic stroll, if you’ve got a morbid side. My husband and I make sure to pass through before sunset on Halloween. The grounds are beautiful and are planted with native trees and shrubbery, so it has a distinct and genuine ‘Florida’ feel to it.

The wonderful thing about this cemetery is that many of the graves have information about their occupants, such as their professions, their marital and family statuses, their manner of death, etc. Several have inscriptions that offer interesting facts and accomplishments, especially about some of the early pioneers.

My husband claims to have experienced a very unsettling feeling around one particular grave. The deceased was killed in a car accident during the 1930’s, and was age 21. He said that, while approaching the grave, he felt suddenly anxious. Upon reading the inscription, he looked very worried and said that he’d imagined the accident in vivid detail, but only for a flash, as if it were a memory of his own. It was so real and disturbing to him that he wanted to leave the cemetery immediately, so we did.

  2. I live walking distance from this cemetery. It is indeed a haunted, unrested and watchful type of place. I walked into the cemetery a few years back with my daughter and later that night was visited by a pioneer woman who showed herself to me in my bedroom. She told me her name and that she and her son were killed by Indians. Her son appeared to my daughter and I the next day, (full bodied apparition) which walked slowly through the hallway and into her closet. We both saw him clearly, she even yelled at the ghost thinking it was her brother. I advise everyone to practice protection while visiting this cemetery, especially if you are a sensitive.
