  1. There were some strange occurrences that happened at the Pearlridge Territorial Savings branch when I worked there as a teller in the late 80’s. We would have to add up the checks at the end of the day twice to make sure they balanced. I did it once on the adding machine and had the roll of tape to show it balanced. I was about to add them the second time when the teller (my friend) next to me said she would do it while I counted my money since she was already finished. She said that I didn’t balance by $12. It was weird because it had already balanced. When we looked at the adding machine tape, there a was a $12 check missing that was the third from the last one taken–meaning it was not the first or last in the stack of checks. We searched everywhere for this check. It was completely gone and never found.
After that, the teller line started to be off by $1 for each teller at the end of the day. It went down the line from me one day, the next teller down the row the next day, and so on. It never skipped a teller. The next week the same thing happened, but it was $100 even starting again with me, the next teller down the row, and so on. No one could ever discover why they didn’t balance. There was one teller in particular who had worked there for many years and always balanced, so she was really distraught.
Since everyone working there was Catholic, we called in a priest to have an exorcism after hours. I didn’t work there long after that, but as long as I remained there were no more strange occurrences.
I am really wanting to know if anyone else has experienced anything strange at this location.
