Palace Theatre

You are here Home  > Theaters >  Palace Theatre

The Palace Theater was built by Herman Jochims in 1915, and his wife Maude played piano to accompany the silent films shown there. Her ghost is said to remain here playing the pipe organ, even though it no longer works. Both Herman and Maude have been seen as apparitions, and witnesses say they sometimes turn the lights on and off as well.

  1. The Palace Theatre is haunted I live in Luverne and have been there many times in my life. I don’t know if you heard about it flooding in there right after they got a digital production and I think the ghosts flooded it to try and ruin the new equipment because they wanted to keep the old equipment. And another time they were going to do a dance competition and there were bats in the girls changing room and they hadn’t been there before.

  2. How do floods and bats constitute for paranormal activity? Well, it’s called the laws of nature. The Palace Theater has long been storied as being “haunted”. It is not haunted. It’s just an old building with spooky tales passed down. Remember: science has never proven the paranormal. The only thing haunted in life is people believing in weird things that don’t exist.
