    3. In August of 2015, my family and I stopped at the Moss Mansion on our way to South Dakota. An avid and outspoken non-believer in the paranormal, I spent my time on the tour comforting my children with hugs and laughter about how the stories about the house were just that, stories. Our tour guide informed us that because the house was considered a historic site, they were not allowed to use any form of air freshers or other scents within the house. As my family and I entered Virginia’s bedroom, my children and I were overwhelmed with a powerful scent of oranges. The smell was so strong that it was nauseating. Funnily enough, my husband, son, and the tour guide all denied smelling anything. None of us encountered any other scents anywhere else in the house either. While I am still a non-believer, I must say that my experience at the Moss Mansion was strange and unusual.

    4. While self touring the Moss Mansion this past September, I had an interesting experience in the “Grandparents” room. After commenting on the photograph of the presumed grandfather in full Confederate regalia, one of two roped off rocking chairs in the room began violently rocking back and forth, leaving the rocker on the right perfectly still. There were no windows open or noticeable breeze in the house. On my way, the docent downstairs shrugged it off commenting that paranormal activity is common with other visitors had witnessed seeing and hearing a young girl in the adjacent room. I wasn’t scared offed, but instead intrigued.

    5. I grew up in Billings and lived 5 blocks away from the Moss Mansion. I went to Broadwater Elem. for 5th and 6th. I took 1 tour of the mansion as an adult and one Christmas party as a kid. I played numerous times on the grounds with friends.
NO ONE I know has ever said it was haunted. I have never heard any such thing. And personally I experienced no sense of paranormal entities or experiences in it or around it. There is even a funeral home next to it. Yet zero rumors of hauntings.
