Mansion House Inn

You are here Home  > Hotels and Inns >  Mansion House Inn

This 1903 mansion was built for a retired army surgeon and his wife, and has been operating as an inn since the mid-twentieth century. Reports of various strange occurrences suggest a poltergeist may be haunting the establishment, such as doors slamming shut, keys being turned in locks by unseen hands and unexplained pounding noises on doors during the early hours of morning.

I stayed here in 1995 in the Queen Anne Turret room – huge, clean, nicely furnished. Big breakfast downstairs at a long dark wood dining table. The cost? Believe it or not $40. I heard nothing scary.
So glad to be able to enjoy this lovely old Victorian home before it became a private residence.
