My greatgrand parents are buried at Liberty! I have a picture of my Big Maw sitting in her rocking chair as family members were cleaning graveyard! She believed in keeping it clean. I saw her one night when alot of us were up there at night drinking! She was in her chair rocking. I guess she was letting me know this was no place for that. She had passed away about a month before!! The picture I have I never knew existed until I went thru my mothers pictures after she passed! They now have a gate up because of people trashing the graves breaking tombs. It is so sad!

My husband and I decided to take a late night trip out to this cemetery tonight after reading several stories about it since it’s not far from where we’re currently staying. I love visiting old cemeteries at night simply for the atmosphere, and this one was no different! I will, however, be returning during the day in order to better maneuver the incredibly uneven ground. I did manage to get some pretty lovely photos, though, which I’ll happily be sharing!

My husband and I decided on a whim to make a late night visit to this cemetery tonight after reading several interesting stories surrounding it since were currently staying nearby. I was not disappointed! Clearly lots of history here and I managed to get some pretty great photos as well! I plan to return during the day soon in order to maneuver some of the more unstable ground.
