Leatherock Hotel and Museum

You are here Home  > Hotels and Inns >  Leatherock Hotel and Museum

The museum section of this old hotel was formerly used as living quarters for the hotel owner and his family, and staff have reported paranormal activity in this section of the building. Sightings include a ghostly dog and cat wandering the museum after closing hours, a dark menacing shadowy apparition and the voices of a young girl and an elderly woman. In the hotel section, the apparition of a young woman in a white dress has been seen in the rooms of guests and in the hallway, and doors in the hotel reportedly slam shut when there is no one around.

  1. I stayed here two years ago, and found nothing unusual or paranormal. The place could be a great hotel, but the owners don’t seem to be into getting it finished. There was junk pile everywhere in the building.

  2. According to “Shirley” at the Leatherock, “The only ghost here, is the Holy Ghost. Our guests like the peaceful and friendly atmosphere we provide, with some nostalgia and lots of history, no ghosts, and no (investigative) equipment allowed. If you have read otherwise, it is erroneous.”

  3. It doesn’t seem scary. It sure doesn’t feel welcoming. However, and friend and I are currently staying the night. We have been feeling a heaviness in our chests. Along with hearing constant talking in the hallways. It it about 2:40 am. No one is awake.
No spirit investigation equipment is allowed, so there hasn’t been an actual investigation. But I do think they have a few spirit that do not cause harm. The spirit seem to enjoy talking majority of the time.
I took this photo, and zoomed in. In my unprofessional opinion, it ALMOST looks like they’re is a face on the board. Might be a trick of the light. I have no idea. But it looks a little like a face.

I am currently dizzy and having trouble breathing. So, I would recommend if you don’t mind the small things. (So far.)
