A man and his son were locked away in here; to face an easier death than starvation, the man killed his son, then himself. The pair are seen together in the room in which they perished. Another ghost is said to be someone who started to appear after a fire destroyed one of the buildings. The ghost is said to be seen at waist level on the floor because, when it was rebuilt, the floor was changed to a different level.

  1. We went out for dinner and bowling. When we returned the bathroom door was locked somehow from the inside and the sound of water could be heard from inside. We rang down to receptions and reported the problem. When the manager arrived she was able to open the bathroom door straight away although me and my daughter had both tried several times to open it before she arrived. The manager left and when I went into the bathroom the bath was full with water and tap still running although this was definitely not this situation when we left the hotel 2 hours ago. We are still here and hope nothing else happens tonight!! Thank you

  2. My partner and I stopped at the castle last night. I woke up in the night as I could hear children, running around. I mentioned it to staff and was told no children were in the castle last night. I asked if the place was haunted and was advised to Google it.
    We slept in room 23

  3. This is nowhere near Widnes. It’s in Moreton Wirral. This was a former racecourse and has many ghostly occurrences. Women and children mostly.
