Heaven's Gate Suicide House

You are here Home  > Miscellaneous >  Heaven's Gate Suicide House

In this house, Marshall Applewhite convinced his followers to commit suicide in 1997. Years later, an eerie feeling lurks over here and some followers might be here as well.

  1. I was here yesterday with a group of 3 and had no clue about this incident. I was there for a quick photoshoot we knew the security guard wouldn’t be there on sunday night anyways, we were in the yellow room upstairs and we heard weird noises somewhere inside the house it was really weird. We then went downstairs and walked to the laundry room and on the way there was a part lf the house that gave me the chills right when I walked by and a room was completely pitch dark(the only room that was completely pitch black) not sure what room they were all piled in but definitely eerie vibes

  2. I’m pretty sure the 4 surrounding neighbors bought the property as a unit because of bad publicity and not only changed the street name but the address location for the suicide location listed above. The redfin MLS property history reflects that the property at 18239 (18241 does not exist) Paseo Victoria (new build 2006, remodel 2007) may be the actual property for Heavens Gate rental and the 4 surrounding properties are old builds from the 70s and 80s. That poor property had massive issues listing, delisting, listing again, etc for many years after the mass suicide because of its stigma and very apparent on the MLS history and may have continued being a vacation rental property . Once the collective owners realized there way no way to financially support the property, street name change, address change and, demolish and full rebuild was inevitable. Who knows if there is a regular resident there right now but at near 5 mil purchase price (its previous history not known as new build, but that is conducive for housing market at the time) its safe to say its not available to the public unless it shows up on VRBO or Airbnb in the future as a rental again. I would not chance visiting this place unannounced. It is a tight knit gated community. https://www.redfin.com/CA/Rancho-Santa-Fe/18239-Victoria-92091/home/4178865
