Far Western Tavern

You are here Home  > Restaurants and Bars >  Far Western Tavern

Rumored to no longer be in existence at this site, the old Far West Tavern was said to be haunted. Witnesses have heard the sound of footsteps with a peg-leg, said to be the ghost of a 1930s-era guest named Mr. Franconeti. According to the story, the man lost his leg in WWI and was caught in the building when it went up in flames. He couldn’t find his artificial leg in time to safely get out. He died in the fire, and a cold spot is said to remain in the corner of the room where his ashes were discovered.

  1. The building is still there but the restaurant was moved to Orcutt California. When they removed the bar to take to the new place a mural was found hidden behind it that no one knew about.

  2. My friends and I went ghost hunting in Guad in January 2016, we had heard rumorodf certain places being haunted, especially the abandoned Far Western Tavern, and while there was no way for us to legally go inside, we didn’t get in trouble for standing liaise and looking through the windows! While we were out there, one of the lights inside turned on by itself. I’d love to find some way to get permission to go inside and investigate someday, maybe we’ll get more than just a light.

    • *rumors of *outside i am the worst at typing. anyways, there are lots of places in guadalupe that are rumored to be haunted! you can’t go in most of em, but if you ever want to get spooked by lights, i recommend here!

I know this place very well ! My family has a business in Guadalupe that we opened in 1985 . Growing up I’ve eaten here many , many times ! I can’t say I’ve ever seen anything paranormal , but I always thought the bathroom was creepy . The haunted area I’ve heard is the second story of the building . The Far Western Tavern has recently relocated to Orcutt , CA and is no longer in this building . I’m pretty sure it’s just an abandoned building now .
