  1. My mom took me to Toronto for vacation and we stayed at the Royal York when I was a kid in the mid-70s. Whatever is haunting the crystal ballroom has been there at least since then. The elevator took us to that floor late at night after pressing the button (and bypassing) for a lower floor where our room was located. That was weird, and after we got off the elevator, the chandelier crystals were clinking as if someone had been swinging from the chandelier. The place was empty. No wind or other force could explain it. It scared us as it continued until another elevator arrived (what seemed like minutes waiting). We hadn’t talked about it since then but now 45 years later we both have identical memories of what happened.

  2. I stayed at the Fairmont Royal York in 2015, and I actually caught a picture of a full bodied shadow person on the 8th floor. It was in the middle of the night, and I was ghost hunting on purpose, so I was making sure not to photograph actual people, not that there were many about in the wee hours. I never saw the shadow person with my eyes, only caught it on my cell phone camera, and when I looked at the pictures, there were no shadows in the images before or after the shadow pic.
I also tried getting EVP’s but no luck there.
Another thing I find interesting – not necessarily paranormal, but interesting – is that the elevators would rarely take me where I wanted to go. I was constantly being let off on floors that were two or three above or below where I was trying to go. It was very difficult to get anywhere, and I felt very uncomfortable and cold in the stairwells as if I was being watched.
I still have the photo on my phone, but for whatever reason, it simply will not upload to a computer. It does transfer from phone to phone, but will not upload no matter how many times I try.
Totally strange place, and I always felt watched while I was there!
