Church of St. Barnabas

You are here Home  > Historical Buildings >  Church of St. Barnabas

The church is allegedly haunted by two separate spirits, one is believed to be that of a former pastor and the other that of a former pastor’s wife, who died somewhere in the early 1900’s. She seems to be especially drawn to the children of pastors who live in the rectory and will visit them at night.

  1. My uncle and two nephews visited this church. During the service, one of the Sunday school teachers asked my nephews if they would like to attend class in the back room. They agreed and went to the classroom. While in the classroom, the teacher left the classroom to get some more booklets, another woman walked into the room. She was wearing a bright, white dress and said nothing to no one. She stood there staring at everyone, specifically at my nephew. My nephew stared back at her, he then said that her eyes turned pitch black and when the teacher was about to walk in the room, she vanished. All of the kids saw this and two little girls got scared and started crying. The parents came and got the little girls because they would not stop crying and took them to the sanctuary. My nephews told the teacher what had happened and she told them not to say anything about it to anyone. My nephews told their dad and he doesn’t take them anymore. Isn’t that scary?
