Camberley Gunter Hotel

Although no body was ever found, a blood-soaked room indicated that something had gone seriously amiss at the Camberley Gunter Hotel. Legend has it that a woman was murdered there in the 1960’s and an unsuspecting maid walked in on the murderer as he was escaping out the fire escape of the blood soaked room. The woman is said to haunt the hotel to this day.

    • Room 616. Rumor is it was a cross dresser that was killed. When Walter killed the unknown blonde a known blonde cross dresser disappeared.

  1. stayed in this hotel for my 16th bday with my mom and best friend, this was 4 years ago. my best friend and i went “exploring” and we were walking around the second floor looking into all of the meeting rooms when our legs started tingling, i thought that maybe i had a pinched nerve or something but when i mentioned it to her she said hers were too! that when we started walking back to the pool area. being the jokester i am, i acted like i was going to pull the fire alarm and the wall light right next to it started flickering. thats when i was done with the second floor lol. after hanging at the pool we went back to the room and my mom had told me that one of us left our bow in the bathroom and neither of us had a bow or even wear them.. sure enough there was a little pink bow on the bathroom sink. mind you, we had both changed into our swimsuits in the bathroom and hadnt seen a thing and my mom never left the room while we were gone! i dont remember what room we stayed in but i definitely got what i asked for when i wanted to stay in a haunted hotel!

  2. My sister and her granddaughter stayed at the hotel 2 years ago. They invited my granddaughter to stay with them. My granddaughter stated that she woke up in the middle of the night to see my sister sitting in a chair, reading the paper and drinking coffee. The next day when she mentioned it, my sister said she didn’t get up during the night.
