According to local legend, a bride-to-be was killed along the A229. Her spirit still walks along the road and sometimes attempts to hitchhike, but vanishes. Another case involve a young girl who was hit by a car and wrapped in a blanket until help could arrive, but the girl had mysteriously disappeared. Other people consider these ghosts the same person.
