  1. I have stayed a weekend in this hotel as my mom was friends with the caretaker. Me and my husband and 2 year old daughter(after much insistence from my mom to go lay down in a room) ended up falling asleep watching tv in the lobby on the big leather couch. About 3~4 am a loud sound woke us strait up, it sounded like someone had walked by and smacked their hands across the top of the leather cushions, hard. Me and my husband both had the feeling as if someone was staring at us and wanted us off that couch. We somehow managed to fall back asleep, too scared to actually move. In the morning the caretaker told us how the original owner “Emma” had a big thing against guest sleeping in the lobby as it “wasn’t proper” hence the reason my mom told us to pick a room. He told us we shld tell Miss Emma we were sorry and move out things into a room as to avoid any more hassle at night. We did as we were told, and had no more issues from Miss Emma. I do believe that she was playing with our daughter in the kids library on the third floor tho. Our daughter was delighted by her it seemed, but after a while it honestly started to creep me out and we went downstairs to have lunch. My mom then showed us a trunk of letters written to “Miss Emma” from various children who stayed at the hotel spanning over several years! Amazing!
