Wabana Iron Ore Mines

You are here Home  > Miscellaneous >  Wabana Iron Ore Mines

Seen on the TV show Creepy Canada, the Wabana Iron Ore Mines began around the turn of the 20th century. The mines included 6 shafts and operated for 71 years; the mines closed in June 1966 after producing 79 million tons of iron ore. It was tragic mining accidents that led to the haunting here: Ghost miners are said to be seen both inside and outside the sealed mines. Some even say that at 5 p.m. when it was time for a shift change, a whole stream of ghostly miners has been seen entering or exiting.

  1. How can ghosts be seen “inside” the mine if it is sealed?!?! Such a contradictory statement nullifies the claim and serves to have the story discounted.

  2. Well me and my fiancĂ© were down there on a tour and the tour guide was taking us around until we come across four concrete barriers to stop the water from coming in anyway we turned around seen another tunnel not to far were we were to anyway it said restricted area do not enter when I looked down the tunnel it was pitch black but there was one light like about ten feet in on the ceiling wasn’t very bright then that’s when I seen it a man with a fainted light on his head on of those old head lamps they used to were anyway I seen the light as plain as day even the out line of a person but he was all black so couldn’t really se him just the out line of him went to tell the tour guide and she said to me you just witnessed a ghost she said. But I said ya but it could be just one of the other people she definitely not because no one and I mean no one is aloud down that way did you see the signs the I had goosebumps lol but I’m still on two minds about that tho but if I did really see a ghost it was a wonderful experience because I happy there’s another side well thanks

  3. Well this is another story, I was on the way to the tunnel… And then I saw these ghostly, tiny white hands on the pavement. As I walked back, I shouted about ghosts. Now a white hand appears on my car front window.
