Once the Weston State Hospital, the asylum is said to be haunted by former patients who passed away there. The plentitude of paranormal phenomena heard, seen, and felt here has prompted its appearance on TV shows such as Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures.

We were there and right in front of us a door slamed on it own. I was touched waliking down a hallway and we heard a little girl humming in Lillie’s room.

We did a ghost hunt there in 2011. I was smacked in the face by something that wasn’t there, mom was strangled, and we got several strange evps while we were there. There was a dark figure that walked thru the wall. Weird noises, random cold spots, and a few other weird happenings that night. Creepy place!
And it’s being restored. All they do is historical tours and ghost hunts. So very worth it. It’s terrific.
Definitely had an experience to say the least, seen a transparent orb in the room where the 12 year old boys killed themselves, I walked over to it in the middle of the floor and told it, that I could see it after everyone walked out of the room, it flew over and tickled my toes ( I was wearing sandals) later the back of shirt sleeve and bottom of pant legs were tugged on, not to mention plenty of cartoon looking imagines captured on camera. After returning home, 2 days later I was haunted by an infestation of something evil, after 4.5 yrs I still see orbs and shadows in my house but nothing tries to hurt me anymore
Took the extended tour while visiting family. This place is huge and we were the only ones there (middle of the week). The staff was very informative while allowing me extra time to get pics and video. While I didn’t have a paranormal experience in the asylum, I can safely say I would not want to hang out there after dark.
Went there on a school trip around a year ago during the daytime. My teacher and some of the students felt compelled to go away from our guided group. We found them where the violent captives were held. The lights constantly flickered but, that could have been the old wiring. In one corridor some of my classmates and I saw a figure emerge from one room and disappear. In the spot where you can stand and look out the skylight I felt dizzy and uneasy, like I was falling. I hope to go back there for an overnight ghost hunt soon.
