  1. This is an experience I had at the White Hart Hotel, it would have been 1997 or 98 I was working as a relief Head chef at the time and was given a temporary job for 2 weeks. It was a live in position and was given a room on the top floor, there was a landing and another bedroom which was occupied by the bar manager. All was normal for the first 6 days, the weekend arrived, Saturday night came and I went up to bed, I had been lying there for about half an hour, the light in the room was off, the landing light was on as I could see the light around the door. Somebody came up the stairs and walked down the landing passing my door and going into the other room, the light was switched on and off a couple of times, then footsteps on the landing walking past my room and going down the stairs, then coming back up again walking past my room again, this happened 5 times , then it stopped and the light switch which was quite loud was being switched on and off in fast succession for about half an hour. By this time I was getting a bit fed up, but it stopped and I went to sleep. The next morning I spoke to one of the staff about what had happened to my surprise and shock was told the bar manager had gone home for his 2 days off and nobody but me was on the 3rd floor last night, that is when I found out about there being two ghosts one a lady in the bar area and a boy who is mischievous, I had no other experiences after that at the White Hart Hotel and knew nothing about the hotel before I worked there.
