Stagecoach Inn

You are here Home  > Historical Buildings >  Stagecoach Inn

Said to be one of California’s most haunted places, the historic inn is now a museum and gift shop reported to be open Wednesdays through Sundays, from 1 to 4 p.m. A ghost named Pierre is said to live here, and docents say he plays pranks like rolling up the rugs, stacking the library books on the floor, and turning the upstairs quite cold. Footsteps have been heard, and a face has been seen looking out the upstairs windows. Some visitors reported having conversations with an “oddly dressed man” who disappeared the moment they turned away.

    1. i believe in haunted things like haunted hotels so i think that this place is haunted i would want to go to that place and see this for myself and do some research

    2. Absolutely haunted. Took a field trip here in elementary school, mid 80’s, and some of the rooms made me downright nauseous due to the negative energies I felt there.

    3. When I was about 10 years old, my friends dad took us to the Stagecoach Inn. We did the tour and afterwards I asked the tour guide if there were any ghosts in the house. He started to tell me about Pierre and as he was doing so a very loud bang came from upstairs. It was so big that the chandelier downstairs was swaying. There was another tour starting in the living room and no one was upstairs. It was a pretty cool experience and I’d love to go back and check the place out.

    4. when my sister was a baby she started crying when we walked into the hunters room. like a full freak out cry. as soon as we took her out of the room she stopped crying.

    5. When my eldest son was about 5 or 6 years in 2003 old we went to visit the nearby park located in the same grounds as the museum. I remember climbing the jungle gym with my son when suddenly there was a gust of wind that came out of nowhere. I stopped and felt a presence that made me uneasy. It was disconcerting to feel that wind come through so suddenly. We had just moved there at that time. I had no idea until years later about the history of the area. Just writing about it now gives me goosebumps.
