    1. I love this place, its pretty much Paranormal Investigators fun house. Every local Ghost Hunting Group has been here. When you walk through this place its like a blast from the past. The Staff members are very friendly and the food is good! EMF spikes are every where, even while having lunch! During our night investigation, very random EVP recording of male and female voices captured, especially the Mary Lambert room #17 made itself known when capturing a Female voice responding to a question.

    2. it was CRAAAZZZYY. every time i started falling asleep i felt someone touching my leg and I would wake up and see all these ghosts everywhere!!!!!

    3. Stayed in the Owners suite with my girlfriend, all night long there were footsteps in the hall out side of our room and my leg was tapped several times. We were the only people staying in the original hotel at that time.

    4. My wife and I were in Taos on vacation and decided to stop by and visit the St James. We were both looking at different rooms downstairs that were roped off. I was taking pictures of the rooms, when at the last room near an exit door I smelled a foul odor(like something died). When I tried to take a picture the digital cameras screen would turn off every time and no flash. I called my wife over to smell the room, when she got there it then smelled like roses. Go figure. Then I tried to take the picture of the room and the camera then worked. Camera never did this since.

    5. We stayed one night at the St. James Hotel, in the Buffalo Bill room. It was in March 5 or 6 years ago, the old hotel was mostly vacant. We had dinner and I was tired so I went to bed to read. Not positive about ghosts existing but open enough that I dug out my old rosary before we left and intertwined it in my fingers when I got into bed. The floors are very creaky so I noted the sound of my significant other — a big guy — as he went down to shoot pool in the saloon; the room keys are on a very large brass oval and he carries his keys on a brass ring, so I could hear that jingling in his pocket and heavy footsteps as he walked down the hall and down the stairs. About 40 minutes later I heard him coming down the hall and waited for the door to open, but the footsteps kept walking down the hall past our room. I heard a similar clang of brass then also. Not knowing we were the only guests in that wing, I assumed it was another guest but I never heard a door open or close, the footsteps just stopped. Didn’t think much about it and asked my guy about it when he came back to the room to sleep–he said he had not come upstairs before. The next day we were chatting with manager and i told her how fun the creaky floor sounds are in that hallway; she looked at me blankly for a split-second then told us we were the only guests in that wing the night before. My guy said he felt someone behind him on the stairs and was surprised no one was there. Know other people who’ve stayed there and kept smelling roses, which is supposed to be perfume from a female ghost. Historically fascinating and eerie at the same time, the St. James in Cimarron is well worth the trip.

I stayed here a couple of years ago as part of a paranormal wknd trip. Well, there is something to it. But I didn’t get bothered. I think as I sat in the bar, drinking a beer and having dinner; I looked at the beautiful place and could agree that I would be pissed off at the owner of the St. James. I took CJ’s side. I felt a calm and relaxed in that place. I did stay in the Annex side, as for it not being haunted or things happening that is not true. I heard something on the roof (which I assumed were tree branches), scratches in the wall, and as if someone was in the room. I HAVE THE BEST SLEEP EVER! I got up and got ready, took pics only to see there were no tree branches over the roof. I thanked whoever was with me in the room for allowing me a good nights rest and left to carry on my adventures. The “Rose” room was rented and I couldn’t go upstairs because he was still sleeping. So all in all a great place to enjoy history.
