    1. Love this place!!!! Beautiful to visit, but also the tales of the keepers & their families are really good. The children who died not far from there who still haunt the place today are very friendly. We have heard whistling, smelled cherry cigar smoke, and the all around feel like you are not alone. Love it!!!

    2. We were at the park near the lighthouse and using a device that detects voices a ghost told us that its name was Benny. It also said it either wanted us to dance or it wanted to dance after we asked “what do you want?” It also said it liked candy 🙂 it said a few other things and it was scary but oh so cool at the same time.

    3. I was there around closing. In the basement alone. Cold spots, felt a presence, did not feel like I was at all alone. This was prior to my knowing anything about the keeper killing family members.

    4. I took a succession of pictures by the memorial to the drowned fisherman that had left from the lighthouse boat ramp and was never found at sea. There are some pictures that had an orb in the trees but in others, it is gone, then it reappears and goes. The orbs had a yellowish-orange shade, despite the fact it was pitch dark. If it were dust or something else, it would be in every photo thereafter, it would not come and go, and would not be orange. I was told on the tour that people found that area, as well as the lighthouse itself, haunted and an orb hothouse.

    5. In 2006, i took my sons to St. Augustine and we did one of the ghost tours not expecting a whole heck of a lot. However, when we got to the lighthouse there was a sudden shift in the air. The night was a perfect full moon night, and when we arrived there was no wind. But when we got to the playground swings- the air turned cool. On the off chance I took a couple of photos 1 shows 3 white orbs sitting on the swings. The next shot shows that the swings were moving- as if someone was swinging on them. Made my youngest son a believer, my oldest one is still “scientific minded”, and I’ve been a believer for years.

    6. When I was little like about 10 I went on one of those tours for St.Augustine. And I was the only kid there besides my sister. And it was at night and we were in an area with a bunch of trees. And right before they started telling the story about the dead children, I saw a girl maybe a little older than I was at the time running around by the trees. I asked my mom if I could go play with her but my mom said she didn’t know what I was talking about. Then the tour guide started to talk about the children who died, my mom started to freak out. I totally believe this place is haunted.

    7. Went to prom at the Riverhouse in 2014, several miles from the lighthouse, which was on and visible across the river from the Riverhouse’s dock. The dock was being used as a nice hangout spot and good photo op zone for promgoers. Took about 20 or so pictures at prom total, several of them being outside. Used an iPod camera with no real issues, but every single picture I took that had the lighthouse in the background had numerous visible orbs. I’ve come to accept that this is St. Augustine and this just happens sometimes, but it only seemed to happen when the lighthouse was visible in the photo. I still have the pictures and think about this every now and then.

    8. Went there with my family a few years ago and did the ghost tour that gave everyone EMF detectors. My father,Mother, Grandmother and I were all climbing the stairs up to the top of the lighthouse. We get about 3 landings up, and my Grandmother, who felt fine the whole way suddenly felt very tired and exhausted. Now, I know you’re probably thinking, it’s probably old age plus a lot of steps. But she’s a strong woman who exercises all of the time. As we were waiting on the landing for her to rest sat on a bench, I decided to use the EMF detector to see if it would show anything, and I got a reading right next to her. There were no wires in sight, the only thing there was a fire extinguisher, which has no electrical charge. Once the reading went down and I got nothing my Grandmother felt perfectly fine.

    9. i few years ago when i came to the light house we were standing outside and saw the woman standing at the top of the lighthouse, then when we got inside we heard the laughs of 2 or 3 little girls but we found that there was no one there. if plan on going just warning you now, there are A LOT of stairs.

    10. While there I witnessed a full body apparition of a young girl in a white dress in the basement in front of the spiral staircase in the Keeper’s house. The dress the young girl was were is very reminiscent of a flower girl’s dress at a wedding. There were no reenactors that day and no young girls dressed the same way she was that day. I also had shaky legs while wondering some of the Keeper’s house.
