A ghostly Lady in White in Victorian attire haunts the second floor of this 1874 bed-and-breakfast building, originally built as a mansion of a home for Benjamin Franklin Schenk. She is said to walk the hallways, taking no notice of anyone around her. Guests also have reported hearing voices, footsteps, and something moving in their rooms at night.

    1. I live nearby this mansion and from time to time you see people that look like they are rich old folk in the window. Once I saw some people outside and i kept staring at them until they disappeared

I have shard here with my family several times. It is haunted. I heard someone walking upstairs in the caretaker/owner’s apartment and was surprised to see the caretaker stayed downstairs the next morning in a 1st floor bedroom. The owner is a wonderful host and has many interesting stories about the place. She has put a lot of work into the place. It is very clean and very comfortable place. I have never regretted staying there. Very affordable, the surrounding town with wineries, antique shops. The Belterra Casino is only 3-4 miles away and they will shuttle you there. Like I said it is haunted, but the owner says they are protectors and I believe that. Try it, you won’t regret it. My husband and I found it on a weekend motorcycle trip and we have been going for 8-10 years now.

    3. My wife and I stayed there overnight about seven years ago. I can’t say with certainty that the two things that happened were haunted or perhaps just coincidental. I was having an art show at one of the galleries in Vevay so that’s why my wife and I made arrangements to stay at the mansion. It was beautiful and we had a wonderful breakfast made for us the following morning. But now to the issue of whether it’s haunted. After the opening, my wife and I were heading back to the mansion around 10:00 PM. As we were approaching the porch or entrance I joked that I saw a ghost up in a window. I did not see one, but the second I finished saying that a big crack was heard and a bunch of snow came tumbling down off the roof between us and the entrance we were approaching. The next day I was heading up some stairs to what I believe was the second level. At the top of the stairs there was a screen door (if I recall correctly) that went outside to a porch or landing of some sort. Anyway, as I went up those stairs I saw that screen door open and close. I got to the top and there was nobody on that landing. My thought was either a draft of wind simply pulled it open and it closed or the other option was something haunted. Regardless, we had a great time staying and have always wanted to go back.
