Sandlin House

You are here Home  > Historical Buildings >  Sandlin House

The Sandlin House has been advertised for sale for $1.59 million, and the ghost is included. The remodeled Victorian-style house is around 120 years old and is haunted by the spirit of then-owner James Sandlin’s 14-year-old daughter Mary Leah, who in 1909 was ironing on the front porch and died when she caught fire after spilling kerosene on herself. Witnesses have heard footsteps near her former bedroom and experienced a closet door that refused to stay closed.

  1. My sister and I were staying at the hotel close by, when I read about this house being haunted. Since we were so close we decided to drive by. My sister snapped a photo of the house with her snap chat app on her phone. It wasn’t until after we already were back at home when we noticed in the photo you can see pretty clearly a face, as if it was looking out of the upstairs window!!! (Perhaps down at my car as I pulled over to get a better look at the house)!! Needless to say we are pretty freaked!! I saved the photo if anyone is interested in seeing it please just e-mail me hull.Brandi@gmail.com
