  1. Apparently I wasn’t crazy when I heard scratching and footsteps in the diva lounge one night.
I started singing show tunes (Finian’s Rainbow) to appease it because I was terrified.
Today a lady who works in the lobby was looking up the stairs towards the girl’s room and saw a figure at the top of it who moved away at once. I asked my stage manager about it and her eyes softened and explained it to me.
This theater used to be a pornohouse, and a burlesque theater. And apparently there are ghosts here. They’re friendly, but everyone who has worked here has stories involving these ghosts.
Like one time an actress thought she had left a curling iron plugged in after everyone had left the theater, so she and another guy who worked at the theater had to go back late at night so they wouldn’t burn down the theater. The guy stayed in the sound booth and brought up the houselights but left backstage lights off.
Well the curling iron was still plugged in, and the light in that room suddenly flicked on. She unplugged the iron and went back to the sound booth and said “Thanks, Greg, for flicking that light on backstage.” And he looked at her and said “…..I didn’t turn any lights down back there.”
They do helpful stuff like this a lot, apparently. They like to see what you’re up to.
It wasn’t part of the job description for Assistant Stage Manager, but I think it just adds to the magic of the Ritz. I don’t mind at all if friendly ghosts hang around!

    • i went to camp there and there was a dark room and me and a friend seen something staring at us and on the was you can see that some weird stuff is on there and ever time we put stuff back stage it moves
